Kevin Kautzman's COYOTE at New Works/New Voices

Here is the podcast that we recoreded with Kevin down at The Magnolia Lounge in Fair Park (outside actually, I think a plane flies by once or twice) in which we discuss his work and some pretty heavy social theory. Get your browser open so you can check out the concepts/words that might be, as my professor Sharon Benge would say (always in reference to me...), highflown. One philosopher, who is not without controversy, is Slavoj Žižek so if you want to check him out, do it. He has a really interesting series called "The Pervert's Guide to Cinema" that I thought was really interesting and insightful. We had a great time with this one and really enjoyed the reading, 115 minutes went by very quickly in this case.  We have talked about staged readings in a couple of venues and in this case, Diana Gonzalez (director) chose to actually stage the reading rather than more traditional music stands. When we post the talkbacks for your listening pleasure, be sure to listen for that aspect of the production.  Podcast 13 May, 2011    First Five COYOTE (NSFW)  Make sure you check out the rest of the festival, it runs through Sunday.  Kevin has also posted the script of COYOTE if you are interested in reading. The whole play will be available through 1 June and after that the first ten pages will be available. http://www.kevinkautzman.com/ https://www.kevinkautzman.com/Coyote.pdf
